Environmental Psychology Groningen featured in special climate and behavior edition of De Psycholoog

The latest edition of De Psycholoog (published by the Nederlands Instituut van Psychologen (NIP)), focused on the theme of climate and behaviour, includes three articles with staff and former students from Environmental Psychology Groningen!

The cover story is an interview with professor Linda Steg about the necessity of system change.

Associate professor Ellen van der Werff contributed a piece on the psychology of environmentally-friendly behaviour change (and its implications for policy makers.

Former master’s student (and current programme maker for Climate and Environment at Pakhuis de Zwijger) Rico Disco, co-authored an article about whether psychologists should be activists when it comes to climate.

Results of three experimental studies and surveys (Ntotal = 3135) conducted in four EU countries show that community members' involvement, but not external parties' involvement, in CEI governance promotes perceived efficacy and identity leadership of the CEI, and thereby its acceptability and people's willingness to join.
